Staff and students celebrate opening of new centre

Staff at The Gateway offered pastries and pizzas throughout the day, as well as helping existing students fill in ‘PR1’ forms, which ensures they get the funding available to them next year without delay.

The centre, based in a prominent shop-front location at Wolverhampton City Campus, will also offer support for both would-be students and current students, including information about finances, applications, courses and University life.

Staff will provide advice via face-to-face appointments, a phone call or online support.

Jon Elsmore, Dean of Students, said: ““We are committed to providing individual advice and guidance to enable people to make the right decisions about their choice of course, based on their own needs and circumstances.

“We can advise about all the different financial support which people may be entitled to once they are a student at Wolverhampton, and can help people complete applications where necessary.”

The Gateway is accessed from the pedestrianised area between the Civic Centre and the underpass to the Molineux Stadium, off Wulfruna Street. It is in the glass fronted Harrison Learning Centre building, immediately to the left of the entrance.
