17/02/2010

The University is hosting the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Grad Bus on Wednesday, 24 February 2010 as part of the University’s Postgraduate Open Day.

The bus will be outside the Harrison Learning Centre on City Campus from 11am to 3pm. During the day, there will be presentations from current KTP graduates about their experiences and also CV and interview techniques workshops.

Emma Howitt, KTP Marketing Manager, said: “Graduates and KTP advisors will be on hand to chat about the benefits of becoming a KTP “associate”, which is the title given to graduates on the scheme.

“Visitors to the bus will have the chance to win a MacBook Air if they register their interest on the day.”

KTP is one of the largest graduate recruitment programmes across the UK and is a three-way project between a graduate, an organisation and an academic institution.

KTP has worked with over 3,000 organisations from micro-sized to large businesses such as Unilever and Rolls Royce. Associates play a key role in managing and implementing projects of strategic importance in the business and transferring knowledge between the business and the academic institution.

They are mentored throughout the partnership and are given the opportunity to train further. Around 70% of Associates are offered employment by their host business on completion of their programme.
