Public lecture focuses on architecture

Professor of Architecture Sabah Mushatat will present the lecture on Wednesday, 24 February 2010 at 6pm.

The talk is titled A Quest for Identity – architecture as symbolism in Dubai and will take place in MC001 at the Wolverhampton City Campus.

Professor Mushatat, from the School of Engineering and the Built Environment, said: “This lecture aims to focus on the phenomenon of the symbol of architecture through the case of Dubai. From an architectural point of view, Dubai is one of the most important cities in the world and it is a diverse city in terms of design.”

In the lecture, Professor Mushatat, who joined the University of Wolverhampton in 2008, will explore and analyse architectural and urban samples.

The 13th public lecture series is open to all and aims to showcase University research on a wide range of subjects.

Professor Sabah Mushatat joined the School of Engineering and the Built Environment in 2008. A practicing architect for some time, he has taught architecture for 25 years, initially overseas and now in the UK.
