Students tune up for music fest

The final year music students will celebrate three years of hard work at University Music Fest 2009 on Tuesday, March 24 and Tuesday, March 31.
 
Six acts will perform over the two nights at The Barfly in Birmingham, showcasing original and cover material in a variety of rock styles.
 
Steve Cooper, Course Leader in Popular Music, said: “These gigs represent three years of musical development, not just in performance but also in songwriting and musicianship. These skills are fundamental to a professional music career and the audience will see the class of 2009 at their very best over these two nights.”
 
UMF 2009 is hosted by the University’s . Doors open at 7pm and the event is for over 18s.
