Engineering professor to share experiences

19/03/2009

Professor Diane Mynors, Professor of Engineering and Technology, will present the lecture on Wednesday, 25 March 2009. The lecture will take place in the Millennium City Building Lecture Theatre on City Campus at 6pm.

The free public lecture will look at Professor Mynors’s non-traditional route to becoming Head of Engineering and Technology at the University’s School of Engineering and the Built Environment.

She said: “My journey started in a physics department, just as physics departments in British universities were declining, and working for a doctorate in ion beam technology for nuclear fusion.

“This was followed by a move into the fascinating world of manufacturing engineering, which led to running the Department of Engineering and Technology at the University of Wolverhampton.”

Professor Mynors added the lecture will also look at electronics, manufacturing simulation and knowledge capture.
