16/07/2008

Jeff Russell won one of four prizes at the Regional Final of the UK Grad Poster Competition for his poster entitled "An Inside Job: The Ankle and Foot in Ballet".

Jeff’s research explores the bones and soft tissues of ballet dancers’ ankles and feet with a view to reducing injuries.

Jeff, from the University’s Research Centre in Sport, Exercise and Performance based in the School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure, received a certificate and £60 book vouchers at the competition held at Keele University recently.

Dr Jonathan Phillips, Associate Dean of Research & Graduate Studies, said: “The University of Wolverhampton sent five finalists to the competition and we are delighted by Jeff’s success. The judges were very impressed with the quality of research being carried out across the Midlands and we are pleased that Wolverhampton has received this prestigious recognition.”
