The International Association of Dance Medicine & Science has announced it will host the 2010 Annual Conference meeting in Birmingham. The main hosting bodies will be the University of Wolverhampton’s School of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure and Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Professor Yiannis Koutedakis and Dr Matthew Wyon from the University have been working closely with Birmingham Royal Ballet for the last 10 years, and both experts are well known in the dance field for their innovative research.

Dr Wyon said: “It is excellent news that the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science has chosen the University of Wolverhampton to co-host its annual conference in 2010 in conjunction with Birmingham Royal Ballet. We have an opportunity to not only showcase our research and facilities but also practical dance performance. IADMS has members from 39 different nations and the conference is open to doctors, physiotherapists, allied health professionals, scientists and educators.”
