Creative professionals offered funded leadership and management workshops

The University of Wolverhampton is offering fully funded places on strategic leadership and management workshops for people working in the Creative Industries sector.

Creative Industries employers offered 90,000 jobs during 2019 and is a key part of the West Midland’s economy. However, external factors such as Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the prospects of the sector, underlining a need for capacity building to enhance its progress and resilience.

The University of Wolverhampton School of Creative Industries and its Business School has secured funding from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) for current and future leaders.

Dr Sean Starr, Management Research Centre co-lead in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Social Sciences at the University: “This fast-paced training is designed to help creative professionals to fulfil their potential and provide impact within their organisation. Attendees will benefit from practical learning with tangible applications, expert knowledge in cross-industry leadership and management, giving them the opportunity to shape their future and develop alongside peers.

“The fully funded workshops are led by seasoned industry professionals and academics who bring years of practical experience and cutting-edge research to the table.”

The workshops will be delivered at the University's £5M Screen School in Wolverhampton city centre and will provide a deep dive into four crucial areas vital for modern business success:

  • Risk Assessment and Resilience Building: Learn to navigate uncertainties and challenges effectively, ensuring your business can weather any storm and emerge stronger than ever.
  • Human Resource Development: Master the art of nurturing talent, building high-performing teams, and fostering a positive work culture that drives innovation and success.
  • Strategic Development and Leadership: Acquire the strategic vision and leadership skills needed to steer your organization towards sustainable growth and long-term success.
  • Digital Innovation and Marketing: Embrace the digital age and harness the power of technology and innovative marketing strategies to reach new markets, engage customers, and stay ahead of the competition.
