The Board of Governors is responsible for the oversight of the University's activities; the effective and efficient use of resources and the safeguarding of assets.

A determination of membership numbers was last undertaken on 22nd July 2014. A maximum of 21 governors (12 independent members, one Vice-Chancellor, two Academic Board nominees, two student members, two staff members and two co-opted members) was approved.
